A Drug Overdose Case with Unexpected Family Drama

At 8 AM, a 38-year-old gentleman was admitted in a state after taking 20-25 sleeping pills.

His wife was with him. We took the history, examined him, started treatment, and explained all the information to his wife.

In the evening, another woman came asking, “Where is Mr.?” She wanted to discuss his health condition.

I calmly replied, “All information has been given to his wife.”

She suddenly got angry and said, “I am his wife!”

I asked, “Then who was the woman this morning?”

She said, “What are you saying? Do I look like a stranger?”

This whole drama happened in the busy OPD in the evening.

When asked in the ward, it was said that the patient and the morning ‘wife’ both signed and went home against medical advice.
