Insufficient Sleep: The Hidden Cause of Inflammation and Disease

Just For Hearts2 min read

If your sleep is insufficient… Your body's repair process reduces, and inflammation increases.

We often neglect sleep, thinking, “I slept less today, I'll make up for it tomorrow.”

But the body doesn't work that way… Less sleep = less repair Less repair = increased inflammation

And this inflammation gradually leads to many diseases.

1. What exactly happens during sleep? Sleep is not passive. - Cells repair themselves. - Hormones balance. - The immune system resets. This is the time to reduce inflammation.

2. What changes occur in the body with less sleep? - Cortisol (stress hormone) increases. - Insulin resistance increases. - Immune regulation gets disrupted. These three together increase low-grade inflammation (subtle inflammation).

3. Why is this “silent inflammation” dangerous? It's not immediately visible, but gradually it's linked to: - Diabetes - Heart disease - Visceral fat - High Blood Pressure

4. Time is not the only factor, quality is important. 7-8 hours in bed does not necessarily mean good sleep. Deep sleep is essential. Late meals, mobile phone use, and stress reduce sleep quality.

5. What are the signs when you wake up in the morning? - Don't feel fresh upon waking. - Heavy head (brain fog). - Fatigue throughout the day. This means insufficient repair + increasing inflammation.

6. Where do the effects on the body appear? - Increased belly fat. - Disrupted sugar control. - Increased Blood Pressure. - Mood irritability. Sleep → Inflammation → Disease

7. How to improve? - Go to bed at a fixed time. - Turn off screens 1 hour before sleeping. - Avoid late-night heavy meals. - Maintain a quiet, dark environment. Small changes → Big impact.

8. How much sleep is enough? For most adults, 6-7 hours of quality sleep. Consistency is most important.

Sleep is not a luxury… It is a natural therapy that reduces inflammation in the body.

How is your sleep? 😴 Great and complete 🙂 Okay 😐 Broken / disturbed 😵 Less sleep

From today, don't neglect sleep… It is your body's daily repair system.
