Not Everything Can Be Important: Essentialism

In over 25 years of clinical practice, one thing has become very clear:

People get less tired from illness... they get more tired from trying to manage everything.

Attention everywhere... but not on themselves.

The ideas from the book Essentialism and the people I have observed so far reveal some quiet but deep meanings:

1. Being "busy" does not mean living meaningfully. There is hustle all day... but at night, when going to sleep, the mind feels empty and tired.

Doing everything is not living rightly.

2. Every "yes" has a "no" behind it. Saying yes to one important thing means saying no to something else.

Late night work → no sleep Time on phone → no time for self Running for money → no peace

Life quietly keeps account.

3. The body first speaks in a soft voice. Fatigue... acidity... irritability... sleep disturbance...

These are signals.

The body does not suddenly collapse.

4. "No time for myself" has become the most common phrase. In OPD, it often feels people are living less... managing more.

5. Fewer things... but with full attention. Calm meals Regular walking Enough sleep 2-3 close people Some time for self

Often, life really needs just this much.

6. Decision fatigue really exists. Small decisions all day long wear down the mind.

Routine calms the mind.

7. Saying "no" is maturity. Not every invitation, not every discussion, not every expectation needs to be fulfilled.

Taking care of yourself is not selfishness.

8. Health is not complicated. We make it complicated.

Sleep Walking Simple food Calm mind

The body responds best to basic things.

9. A calm person is often strong. People who constantly prove themselves often look very tired inside.

Stability is also strength.

10. A big lesson from OPD: Those who simplified life... their BP, sugar, stress slowly became stable.

The medicines were the same... but the way of living changed.

My experience: Improving life does not always need "more". Sometimes, understanding what to reduce is true wisdom.

What is truly essential in your life?

And the rest... is it just confusion, hustle, and fatigue?

What tires you the most today?

1. Constant hustle 2. The voice in the mind 3. Trying to manage everyone 4. Now wanting to live simply

Perhaps many of us do not want to change life, just need a little peace.
