Health Doesn't Change Because We Set Goals Too Big

Just For Hearts2 min read

Health doesn't change because of a lack of willpower; it doesn't change because we set goals that are too big.

This truth is scientifically presented in the book 📘 Tiny Habits by Dr. BJ Fogg.

Important lessons learned from this book and from real patients:

1. Health change = Behaviour change Diabetes, Blood Pressure, and weight improve not just with medicines but with behavioral habits. 2. "Aiming big" is the biggest trap. Starting today with ❌ 1 hour walk ❌ a complete diet change often stops within a few days. Tiny Habits suggests doing only what can be done daily. 3. Small ≠ weak, Small = smart * Walking for 5 minutes after a meal * Drinking 1 glass of water after waking up * Taking 2 deep breaths before sleeping These may seem small, but if done daily, they transform the body. 4. Habits need a trigger, not effort. For example: * Checking Blood Pressure after brushing teeth * Walking after placing the dinner plate * Turning off mobile after getting into bed A habit sticks when it's linked to a routine. 5. Motivation isn't daily; a system sustains. "Not in the mood today," "No time today" – all this is normal. Tiny Habits advises not to rely on motivation; instead, create a system. 6. Emotions are very important. After completing a habit, tell yourself, "I did it." The brain gets a reward, which strengthens the habit. 7. Clinic reality (what I see daily): Patients who: * Accept small changes * Remain consistent without being perfect → sustainably improve their sugar, Blood Pressure, and weight. 8. Why do crash plans fail? Because they don't change behavior; they only provide temporary control. If behavior doesn't change → the disease returns.

Now we are shifting gears, moving beyond just information to understanding → discussion → action.

In this new approach: * A detailed post on each new topic first * Comments and questions on all social media platforms * Followed by important questions in Just For Hearts' YouTube Live * And for those who know that change takes time (3-6 months), there will be small habits + actionable plan + group guidance.

The first topic will be Fatty Liver Management.

This method will apply to every important topic going forward.

There are no expensive plans or products, just registration and basic health history required.
