A peaceful break in the cool, serene mountains of Uttarakhand.

During the trek, we met the Gram Sari village head and secretary from Block Ukhimath, Rudraprayag district. They invited us to participate in the 150th anniversary celebration of the national song "Vande Mataram" in their village.

Later, they published a report of the event in the local newspaper.

Despite extremely challenging conditions and limited resources, the people here are number one in hospitality!

On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of India's national song "Vande Mataram," a collective singing event was held today at 10 AM in the Panchayat Bhavan under the direction of respected Gram Pradhan Mrs. Anita Devi.

Participants included Mamand President Vinita Devi, ward members Bharat Bhatt, Hanumant Negi, Prem Devi, Kuldeep Lal, former Pradhan Guddi Devi, Rauli Devi, Bardei, Sauni Devi, Kushala Devi, Chaita Devi, Naumi Devi, and tourists from Pune Dr. Ravindra Kulkarni, Dr. Manisha Devkar, Manoj Badne, Rahul from Delhi, and children from the Anganwadi.
