How to Drink Milk for Better Health: Timing and Method Matter
Milk is good for health, but if you don't know how and when to drink it, milk itself can cause problems!
1. Before sleeping at night – warm milk with turmeric helps improve sleep, calms the brain, and relaxes muscles.
2. Do not drink milk on an empty stomach – it strains digestion and may cause gas and indigestion.
3. Avoid sugar – use cinnamon, dry ginger (sunth), or ajwain instead for medicinal benefits and to avoid sugar.
4. Do not boil milk for too long – prolonged boiling destroys Vitamin B12 and protein properties.
5. Avoid cold milk – especially at night or when having cold or cough; warm milk is easier to digest and safer.
6. After exercise, milk with protein powder or cinnamon is excellent for muscle nutrition and reducing fatigue.
7. Always drink milk after meals or light snacks – this ensures proper nutrient absorption and prevents indigestion.
8. For children, set specific milk drinking times – giving milk at intervals rather than continuously helps maintain appetite and digestion.
9. If milk does not suit you, use alternatives like buttermilk, clarified butter (ghee), ragi soup – useful for those who cannot tolerate milk.
10. Treat milk like milk, not like a sweet – adding powdered sugar, biscuits, or cornflakes reduces its nutritional value.
Do not doubt milk – keep the right time, type, and quantity, and see how healthy milk can be!
