A Pattern in the ICU

Sometimes, a pattern is observed in the ICU. I have seen it myself many times, and perhaps many others have experienced it too. A serious patient suddenly becomes quiet. Then, they start talking loudly to loved ones who passed away many years ago, saying things like, "Mother is here..." or "Father is calling..." Soon after, the patient goes into arrest. This is often a warning sign. Phenomena like End-of-life experiences (ELE), Terminal delirium, and Hypoxia are also found in reputable research journals. There is science, and there are explanations. Yet, some experiences are such that they cannot be fully put into words. They simply stay in your mind and make you ponder.
