Is alcohol good or bad for the heart? Let's clarify once and for all!

Because alcohol consumption has become common nowadays, and misinformation is widespread...

1. Alcohol is not a medicine – it is a habit. → The phrase 'a little alcohol is good for the heart' is incomplete and often incorrect.

2. The idea that 'a little alcohol is beneficial' appears only in statistics – not in reality. → Some large studies showed this, but those studies involved people with very different lifestyles, diets, activity levels, and stress. → We try to imitate them, but our circumstances and bodies are different.

3. It is said that components in red wine are good for the heart – but only in very small amounts. → The beneficial components are present only in tiny quantities – → To get that effect, one would have to drink 10–15 glasses daily, which is harmful to the heart!

4. Alcohol raises Blood Pressure – especially with regular use. → Many patients come with increased Blood Pressure after simple drinking at age 40–45.

5. Alcohol can cause irregular heartbeats (Atrial fibrillation). → This is called Holiday Heart Syndrome – palpitations and irregular beats after partying.

6. Alcohol can increase fat and cholesterol – especially in beer lovers. → Many show Fatty liver, elevated Triglycerides, and increased cholesterol.

7. Alcohol combined with cigarettes doubles the risk of heart disease. → This combination is more harmful physically.

8. After heart disease, is 'a little alcohol okay?' – the answer is not definite. → Overworking an already damaged heart is dangerous.

9. No direct benefit of alcohol has been firmly proven anywhere. → And there are many safer ways to maintain good health – walking, sleep, stress-free living.

10. Alcohol may be a social or cultural habit – but it was never a 'heart necessity.'

"If you seek justification to drink, you are already neglecting your heart." One day your heart will say – 'Enough!' – and then it will be too late.
