The Rising Trend of Eating Mixed Seeds and How to Do It Right
The trend of eating 'Mixed Seeds' has been increasing lately.
However, if consumed incorrectly, it can cause discomfort instead of benefits.
Seeds, when eaten properly, can positively affect heart health, diabetes, obesity, digestion, hair, skin, and hormones.
Which seeds and their benefits? 1. Flaxseeds: Rich in Omega-3, helps control cholesterol, beneficial for the heart. 2. Chia seeds: High in fiber, aids in weight loss and improves digestion. 3. Pumpkin seeds: Good source of Zinc and supports prostate health (especially for men). 4. Sunflower seeds: Rich in Vitamin E, good for skin and hair. 5. Sesame seeds: Provide Calcium, strengthen bones. 6. Fenugreek seeds: Help control sugar levels and improve digestion.
How to consume? Preparation Guide: 7. While preparing the mix: • Take 100g of each seed, lightly roast them, grind into powder, and store in a glass jar. • Use 1-2 teaspoons daily.
8. How to eat? • Consume on an empty stomach in the morning with water or milk. • Mix into yogurt, soaked oats, or smoothies before meals.
9. Seeds vs Powder: • Some seeds like flaxseeds, if eaten whole without grinding, may not be absorbed well by the body, reducing their benefits.
10. When to avoid? • People with Thyroid issues, IBS, Gout, or sensitive digestion should consult a doctor. • Excessive consumption may cause gas and bloating.
❤️ My opinion: I have observed many patients show improvements in HbA1c, weight loss, and noticeable changes in skin and hair with scientifically tailored seed combinations.
This is not medicine but an important part of Lifestyle Medicine.
