Morning Pulse Check: A 1-Minute Daily Ritual for Heart Health
Why do a morning Pulse Check?
1. Morning Pulse = Resting Heart Rate (RHR): Right after waking up, your body is fully relaxed, so the pulse at that time reflects your heart's true fitness score.
2. How to measure without a smartwatch? Place two fingers on your wrist or neck and count the beats for 60 seconds to get bpm (beats per minute).
3. If you have a smartwatch: Tap the sensor and get your RHR reading within seconds.
4. What is the normal range? • 60–80 bpm → Normal • Athletes or regular exercisers → 50–60 bpm
5. When to worry? • If pulse is frequently above 90 bpm → could indicate stress, poor sleep, or lifestyle issues. • If pulse is consistently above 100 bpm, consult a doctor.
6. Benefits: Gives clues about stress, fatigue, and sleep quality. Helps you improve lifestyle timely.
7. When to do it? Immediately after waking, sitting on the bed, before any movement.
8. How long? Just 1 minute – with or without gadgets.
9. Keep a record: Note your pulse daily to see trends in your heart fitness.
