Should There Be a Dress Code When Visiting the Doctor?
Over the past 25 years in the OPD, I have seen thousands of patients. Some examples come to mind:
A working woman, around 45 years old, wearing a yoga top, fitted leggings, and slippers; she said, "I came straight after school exercise."
A young college man: hoodie, shorts, earphones in his ears, sitting on a chair.
A housewife in her home nightgown and an old shawl; she said, "I wore this quickly because I came in a hurry."
An elderly gentleman in formal shirt and pants, neatly groomed hair, clean appearance.
A 45-50 year old male, wearing trendy clothes, trying a Gen Z style.
I have no objection to what dress one should wear. There is no reason for that. I have closely observed this change over the last two decades, and it is quite good. However, I have also noticed the murmurs and gossip among those present in the waiting room.
What do you think? You must have visited an OPD, consulting room, or hospital as a patient or caregiver.
I would love to hear your thoughts. Please feel free to comment; your opinion is valuable.
