The Lion's Question: A Fable on Modern Living
Once upon a time in the jungle, the lion asked all the animals… “You have food, water, safety… Yet, why is there no satisfaction on your faces?”
Silence fell for a moment…
A fox slowly said… “We eat… but we forgot when to stop, even when not hungry.”
A deer said… “We run all day… But we don’t even know where we are supposed to reach.”
A bird said… “We sleep… But our mind is never calm.”
The lion stood silently…
Just then, an old tortoise came forward… And said in a soft voice,
“We have gained everything… But we have lost the simplicity of living.”
There is nothing lacking in the jungle… Yet, something is missing…
Because the problem is not external It is in our habits… In our rush… And in moving away from ourselves…
And then the lion said…
“The problem is not in food… Not in water… But in the way we live.”
Today, our situation is no different…
Everything is available… But are we giving our body what it truly needs?
Ultimately, the question is not How much we gained…
The question is How we live…
And in that living, are we not losing ourselves?
