The Benefits of Thoughtless Minutes for Mental Calmness
What are "Thoughtless Minutes"?
- Sitting quietly for 2-3 minutes a day without any thoughts, simply focusing on your breathing. - Similar to meditation but easier: allow thoughts to come but do not hold on to them.
Benefits: 1. Reduces stress: A calm mind lowers the strain on the heart. 2. Controls Blood Pressure: Stress hormones in the body decrease. 3. Improves concentration: The brain becomes more calm and alert. 4. Enhances sleep: Feeling light throughout the day helps you fall asleep faster. 5. Balances emotions: Reduces anger and irritability.
How to do it? - Choose a quiet place (chair, bed, or floor). - Close your eyes and focus on your breath going in and out. - If thoughts come, just observe them without holding on → return focus to breathing. - Keep your mobile away and set an alarm for 2-3 minutes.
When to do it? - After waking up in the morning: to start the day calmly. - During the afternoon: to reduce work stress. - Before sleeping at night: for peaceful sleep.
