Why Isn't My Fat Reducing Despite Exercise?

Just For Hearts2 min read

"I exercise, but why isn't my fat reducing?" This is a question many people ask nowadays.

"Sir, I walk... I go to the gym... yet the fat around my belly doesn't decrease."

This isn't a failure of exercise. Most of the time, the metabolism doesn't respond appropriately to exercise.

Let's understand the reasons.

1. Short Exercise, Sedentary Rest of the Day Exercise lasts 30-45 minutes. If the remaining 23 hours are spent sitting, the metabolism doesn't get ready to burn fat.

2. Less Muscle Work, More Cardio Just walking or using a treadmill isn't enough. If muscles aren't worked, sugar utilization decreases, and fat burning slows down.

3. "Reward Eating" After Exercise After exercising, one feels "I've worked hard." And unknowingly, more is eaten. The metabolism gets confused.

4. Sleep and Stress Stop Fat Loss If sleep is less and stress is high, the body considers fat storage safe. Despite exercise, weight loss gets stuck.

5. Exercise Timing and Meal Timing Mismatch There's no rhythm to when you exercise or when you eat. Metabolism works on rhythm, not on random effort.

6. Fat Loss ≠ Weight Loss Just because weight isn't decreasing doesn't mean fat isn't decreasing. But observing your waist, how clothes fit, and your energy levels is more important.

7. Under-fueling Metabolism Eating too little, crash dieting. The body goes into survival mode. Instead of burning fat, it learns to store it.

8. Hormonal & Metabolic Resistance When there's Insulin resistance or Fatty liver, the response to exercise is reduced. The metabolism needs to be improved first.

Exercise is essential, no doubt. But exercise alone doesn't improve metabolism.

Fat loss is a combined result of Exercise + daily movement + sleep + stress + food rhythm.
