Why Early Morning Walks Can Be Risky for Your Heart

Just For Hearts1 min read

Have you ever started your morning walk right after waking up and suddenly felt chest pain? Many patients have experienced this and ended up in the ICU. Why does this happen? Let's understand.

Early morning is a high-risk time for the heart because: 1. Blood Pressure spike: Blood Pressure is low during sleep but rises sharply upon waking, putting stress on the heart. 2. Hormonal surge: Cortisol and adrenaline levels increase in the morning, which can trigger a Heart Attack. 3. Clotting tendency: Platelets are more active in the morning, increasing the risk of blood clots. 4. Dehydration: After waking, the body is dehydrated, which thickens the blood. 5. Unexpected exertion: Going for a walk immediately after waking, combined with temperature changes, breathlessness, or high Blood Pressure, can shock the heart.

What is the right time and care? - Rest calmly for 15-20 minutes after waking and do some stretching. - Don’t forget to drink water. - If you want to walk, start slowly after 6:30-7:00 AM. - If you have high Blood Pressure, Diabetes, or Heart problems, consult your doctor before starting any exercise plan.
