Why Do Your Legs Swell Even When All Tests Are Normal?
Many patients experience confusion when all their test reports come back normal, yet they still suffer from swelling in their legs.
Remember: Normal test reports do not always mean perfect health. Swelling can be a sign of imbalance in a larger bodily system.
Why does swelling occur even when reports are normal?
1. Insulin resistance / Metabolic syndrome: When sugar is not properly used by the body, it leads to increased microscopic inflammation. 2. Tendency to retain water: Some people's cells store excess sodium and water. 3. Lack of physical activity: Sitting all day slows circulation and causes swelling. 4. Hormonal changes: Women may experience swelling during PMS or post-menopausal periods. 5. Excess salt intake / poor sleep: Sodium retention and poor recovery cause swelling.
What should you do?
6. Improve lifestyle: Start walking, reduce salt intake, and improve sleep. 7. Target insulin resistance: Focus on diet, exercise, and weight loss. 8. Keep health updates: If swelling persists, have regular follow-ups. 9. Do not ignore swelling even if there is no pain; it is a silent alarm. 10. Get checked thoroughly as external signs may not reveal the cause.
Even if reports are normal, swelling may indicate something is wrong. Listen to your body's signals early to prevent serious problems.
